I think your pit is pretty important, we don't want to go round plucking out vital organs. Lick the pit til the peach is nice and juicy then eat it all.

I slice my peaches hemispherically, longitudinally, and through the equator. Then I pull the sections apart and toss the pit away. With the pit gone, I save every bite of sweet, juicy flesh.

I would eat around your pit....I like picking out the left-over pulp when I'm finished with the peach itself.
