I've always loved the name Emily, even though it's super-popular. It's been on the top ten list for like years. I guess it is kind of old-fashioned, but it's really more timeless - it will never sound out-of-place or dated or anything. And it has tons of other pretty variations - Emmeline, Emilia, Emma, Emme, etc. But Emily just like that is still a really great name.

Emily is not old fashioned, it's TOO COMMON. There are too many Emilies around.
It's a lovely and very beautiful name, but it's just too common.
Try Emma-Lee, Emilie or some other alternatives to just too common name.

My name is Emily, middle name Suzanne, and when I was younger (I'm 33) I was the only one around with the name Emily so it was kinda nice. Now every where you turn there are little girls with that name.

Yeah! That's my name!
It's kind of popular now, though. When I was young there were hardly any Emilys, but now, they're everywhere!
