We teachers are human. We will make mistakes. By your teacher admitting that she was wrong is amazing. He/she know that he/she was wrong and apologized because he/sh did not want her students to know the wrong thing. I call that respectable and responsible.

I would respect the teacher. During the lesson, it is very easy to get facts confused. The teacher who apologizes for the error sets a good example for all the students.

They just taught you by example one of the most important qualities of a truly successful person. Realizing they can & did make a mistake & having enough integrity to apologize. They also taught you how respect is earned!
What a wonderful experience for you both. This is not about, age, position, or authority it is about personal responsibility! Thank you for sharing this. It is encouraging.

Teachers aren't perfect!! My first year of teaching was difficult and there were a few times when my students would correct me and even challenge some of the material I presented to them. Not once did I feel embarassed, it made me feel wonderful knowing that my students were actually listening to what I was saying and wanted to get the facts straight.

I would think that teacher is just like everybody else - not perfect and willing to admit it. I always tell my students that nobody is perfect and knows everything. I admit all the time when I have made a mistake during a lesson.

I would think of my algebra teacher who gives us homework that most of us don't understand that she hasn't even looked over yet. She must have said "im sorry" 50 times since school started this year...

I would think that teacher will be one you remember fondly and with the utmost respect. Hopefully other teachers will be inspired by her / his example.
