how can you make nitric oxide? nitrogen has 5 valence electrons and oxygen has 6. how can they share electrons for them to be stable and have 8 each

Nitric oxide, NO. Because the electronegativity of oxygen is 3.5 and that of nitrogen 3.0, and because they are both nonmetals, any bond between them must be covalent and polar.
