Do you REALLY want to live in New York, or do you REALLY want to major in musical theatre? To do both, there are only two programs: one amazing and one decent.

There's NYU/Tisch's CAP 21 studio program

and Marymount Manhattan College's Acting program with Musical Theatre Minor

Juilliard only offers straight drama.

The Barnard-Columbia Undergraduate Theatre Major isn't a very serious program since it doesn't require an audition to be admitted to the major. It's also not musical theatre.

SUNY, Purchase is not in NYC and it's not musical theatre, but it's a great acting program and not too far from NYC.

The best musical theatre programs are:
Boston Conservatory
Carnege Mellon
Cincinnati Conservatory of Music
NYU/Tisch
Oklahoma City University
University of Michigan

Afterthoughts:
Northwestern University
University of the Arts

NYU

Julliard

The Actor's Studio (it's mostly drama not musical)

That's about it, after that it's Theater Arts at a college or University like Columbia, College of Staten Island, CCNY

immerse yourself in singing, dancing and acting lessons, you have picked the very hardest kind of theatre and the one with the fewest jobs available. You will have to be very very good. If you can get into Julliard, you are very very good. It is the best acting school.

Strasberg is not only a fraud and passe`, it is of no use in musical theatre.
