No. Veterans of many wars have met with veterans groups of the country they fought, when the become old.
The shared experience of battle that fewer and fewer people understand seem to bring fellowship at that point in their lives.

Yes,because as long as a single survivor is alive he/she carries those psychological wounds. Once the last leaf falls however,it ceases to be a part of living memory.

That's perfectly true, America will have hundreds of thousands of psychologically scarred ex-soldiers, many homeless, on it's streets for years to come. Just like after Vietnam, not to mention Iraqis

I think so. The psychological effects are forever. Anyone who has a relative that has fought in any war pays the price in seeing their family member lose their mind in nightmares or delusions.
