i have never known a 5 year old to make up stuff like that. Ask yourself how the child knew daddy slept with mommy...maybe the child was there as well. Because I figure mommy and daddy would have gone to bed AFTER the child would so the child wouldn't have known who slept where unless it was witnessed...and don't forget to a child SLEEPING is just that...It doesn't MEAN having sex.

the experts say that a child under 5 is incabable of lying but my grandson was adept at lying from the age of 3 so you must make your own mind up based on the intelligence of the 5 year old in question and i'm sorry if this poses doubt on your relationship but every child is different and under 5 is very unusual to be able to lie.

Sounds like the truth to me. 5 year olds love to spill information. When my step-son was 5 he loved to talk about everything going on especially what was going on with his mom. I think you should ask your husband if this is true or not.

Regardless of what other people are saying about children not lying, it is very possible for a child this age to lie. Children see and hear things that we don't realize and are able to manipulate situations to their advantage. Kids this age are smarter than a lot of people give them credit for and are fully capable of making stuff up to suit their own situations. It is worth investigating.

Now if this child is always making stuff up then it could be wishful thinking... But honestly it sounds like maybe it could be true. You have to look deep inside ur heart- do u feel it could have a possibility of bein true? Maybe you should confront the both of them to see how they react to it.... Eyes never lie.... If they dont look you in the eyes then u know.

When my daughter was five, my ex-husband (her father) was in jail, and I was dating my current husband. She was telling people that her real daddy (and she did say his name) was living with us and I had a boyfriend he didn't know about. I never figured out why she said that. She also used to tell people that her daddy was the nice one, even though he wasn't around and I was raising her by myself.
I hope your stepson is making that up.

My daughter is 5 and I listen to every word she says. I know when she is making something up and when she isn't. If there is something that she says that happened while she was at her dads on the weekend and I don't like it, I call him immediately and ask him about it. And it is always true, what she says. Kids don't lie like that. How could he? He doesn't understand and he wouldn't make that up.

Kids do lie but a 5 year old is questionable. And why would he tell you this. I would come right out and ask.

In all honesty i did the same thing when i was younger and it was basically wishful thinking,
but i didn't want my dad to be with someone else also so there was a devious element behind it.
I would tell similar tales among others.

Generally children of that age do not lie about such things, but I would not get too worked up without a little more evidence. You could confront him, but be prepared for an argument. Good luck.
