You answered your own question. Within your inquiry, you attributed, rightly I might add, that the primary impetus behind our so called “War on Terror” is profiteering by corporations. So any end to this profit making scheme, which others call a “war”, depends on the end of big business driving our military and governmental policy.
Bush departing from office will not end corporate dominance over our political process and foreign policy making. The Democrats and Republicans are both beholden to the military industrial complex. If an Obama or a Clinton were to take Bush’s place, no tremendous change in policy will occur.
It is only when the American people put the lives of our men, and the lives of people outside our borders, over our lucrative enterprises, only then will our “War on Terror for Profit” end. The departure of one man will not change a thing. Bush is not the problem, but more of a symptom of it.

no the war on terror will not end after bush's departure. Terror is not a tangible object and therefor you can not go to war with it. Bullets cannot silence ideas and this war will never stop until the politicians in power realize this. Sadly enough, all the presidential candidates are not even close to understanding this.
Everyday we are in Iraq, there are more and more terrorist organizations growing. They are angry that we are there and are starting to rebel. If we do decide to go into Iran, which i feel like it is very probable, we might see ourselves in a world war three which will not end for many many years to come.

NO! this will not end with a change in presidents. by now thinking people everywhere should understand that the president is no more than a mouthpiece for the true power structure.
there are a couple of guys that would stop it if they got in office. they will not attain the office. stopping the war on terror is part of the plan for our future.
what is the plan for our future? study council on foreign relations. the bilderburg organization. hillary was at the Bilderberg Conference in Ottawa (hmmm). she's spoken to the CFR. thompson is a long time member of CFR.
choice? you have no choice anymore.

nope, I'm afraid not.
If either party truly did win majority and pulled our troops out of the ME, it would spell political disaster if it allowed another problem to occur.
Quagmire couldn't have been a more appropriate name.
but I'm willing to bet once Bush is gone, we will notice a small time of calm before violence erupts again.
terror will not end, until we start letting other people solve their own problems either.

While it's true that they have been fighting each other forever, my question is; why did we have to get involved? Why did we have to cause things to become worse?

Terror has been a problem long before Bush entered the picture and will continue long after we are all gone. There will never be peace in the middle east. (thousands of years of fighting and you blame Bush?) Just silly.
