I'm putting on a production of "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens with my fellow classmates, and I intend for it to be student-written, student-produced, and student-performed. The problem is, I don't have any idea of what to do, or if we'd be able to squeeze the plot-line into one act (for I'm not sure how much time we have to perform.)
Any suggestions?
I'm considering the storming of the Bastille, but I don't know how well we'd be able to perform it.

I've got a lot of interested students, a large auditorium, and a teacher who says she'll help as much as we need her to.
I've put on plays before: I just need an idea for a scene.
