Antonio Serrano, a former assistant manager for Abercrombie in Scranton, Pa claims that it is policy to offer only pretty people, "model" looking people a job. In my opinion, if you aren't five foot eight and one hundred twenty pounds, you most likely won't get a job.
Sadly enough, even plus sized models are quite small. This means that hoping the "model" comment was based on height and beauty alone is unlikely.
Don't turn bulimic as another person advised, sarcastic or not many people take things like that into consideration. You are fine the way you are unless your weight is detrimental to your health.
Whether they would hire you or not, you should apply. Go into that store with pride, and don't be made a fool of. It's your choice to stand up for yourself and say,"Here I am. Take me or leave me."
If they don't recognize you as a good employee then screw them.

I've never heard of Abercrombie or Fitch. So I can't tell you if they hire big people.

I got dragged in there once by a girlfriend. From that one visit I've conclused you need to be a gay Zac Efron impersonator to work there. I felt fat walking in there and I'm not fat, just in need of some exercise.

They hire big people, but not fat ones. "Big boned" doesn't count either.

Well you could puke up all your food like their other models. Seriously, i went to the website to order something, and you could see the hip bones of the jeans model protruding! it was gross.
