It is turning just a little dry after normal washing in the sink with dawn and I want to make sure it lasts.

Olive oil will turn rancid; use some mineral oil as is used on cutting boards.

Buy a bottle of mineral oil at the drug store. Olive oil will turn rancid.

Olive oil goes rancid quickly. I wouldn't use it.

Ihave an antique wooden bread bowl & I use mineral oil. It works GREAT & is ordorless & tasteless.

Yes, but ordinary salad oil is as good.
