1. Coefficients are usually given as numbers that multiply variables.

-6 is a coefficient of x
-1 is a coefficient of xy

Variables are the "unknown" values.

Given no other information than the equation......your variables would be x and y.

Contstant is a number that would do the same thing to the equation each time.

In this case +60 is constant.

terms are anything seperated by + or - signs.

expression is statement without the equal sign.

2. Let x by Jon's time (min) to complete illustration. x+7 is Jen's time. x+(x+7)=360 min 2x+7=360. Variable is jon's time. constant would be 7 min and coefficient is 2.
+1y
3. 10x^2-4y+5y+2
variables are x and y
constant is +2
coefficients are 10, +1

Recall PEMDAS. x=3 gives.....

63-4y+27+5y+2
92+y
101

4. 10% is found by decimal one place left.... 10.8 and 5% is half of 10% so 5.4 .......15% is 16.2

5. What is an even #? anything times 2 correct?

so first even is 2n next number is 2n+2 and next is 2n+4.
so 6n+6=144 6n=138, n=23 so 46+48+50=144

6. write an equation for your situation and solve for the variable. if you go to walmart....how do they find the total sale of 5 dvd's?

5(x) +.07(5x)=66.34. assuming each cd is same price.
5.35x=66.34
x= 12.40 so each dvd was 12 dollars and 40 cents.

7. Area is length times width for rectangle. w=w l=w+4

w^2+4w=45 w^2+4w-45=0
thus (w+9)(w-5)=0
we can throw out w+9 because a negative width is not possilble.......w=5, l=9

1) x and y are variables

2) just 'write' the information given using 'math language'.

Let T equal the time for Jon to illustrate, then T + 7 equals the time needed for Jen to illustrate. Since the total time for both illustrations is 360 minutes (6 hours), then T + T +7 = 360. Simplifying yields: 2T = 353, thus T = 353/2

1. the letters are variables, so x and y
the number in front of a letter is the coefficient. so 6
the number on its own is a constant, so 60

2. let n be the smallest number
n + (n+2) + (n+4) = 144
3n + 6 = 144
3n = 138
n = 46
the numbers are 46,48,50

We could desire to make the alternative to settle for Christ. In Revelation it speaks regarding the e book of life, and names being blotted out. This says initially all have the possibility for salvation. Romans 10:13 says those that decision upon the call of the Lord would be saved. then the thief on the pass is a good occasion the place he says to Jesus that He (Jesus) would not deserve death, however the thiefs do. Jesus tells the only that he would be with Him in Paradise.
