ok all my life i have barely drawn squat at all, but recently these past few weeks i felt like trying. i thank god for this natural talent i believe i have. during my practice sessions i have dicovered super efficient drawn ideas like:

sketching is waaaay better than simply drawing single lined

and the Bigger the art the Better the quality:detail quality, accuracy in the strokes. from my experience

and common sense when it comes to background and foregrownd you know draw one or the other first then the work your way to the other on to the end
________
i sketched a huge picture and shrank it down to size giving it the look that i drew it from smaller size

it looked fantastic

ok my question for artests is:

what are all the concepts and whatnot that yall go by to draw your best?

Practice, that's #1. Draw-doodle-sketch anything you have an interest in. It trains your hand to put down what your mind's eye sees.

#2 check out different mediums. If you use a pen, try chalk, color pencil, pastel pencil, pastells, crayon, pen and ink (with different inks), dry brush, sumi brush, etc. Sometimes a completely different type will 'click' and away you go!

#3 do what seems fun, what you like, and what interests you. Don't let someone bring you down by picking apart what you drew. Be yourself.

There are different drawing books out there, but most are geared towards controlled classroom work. It stunts what comes free-flowing from you. So do your own thing, check the books at the bookstore if you like, for ideas, but use what comes to you FIRST before starting to sit down and do formatted art that some books want you to do. When you're ready for looking into tutorials you can find them online, as well as artist group discussion boards.

Good luck! And congratulations!
