It's very strange, sometimes I answer in great detail about something I know a lot about and I don't get best answer, but other times I answer a question with something I doubt will ever make first answer and I get it.
In general I just make sure I actually answer the askers question. I know this should seem straight forward but not very many people do. Sometimes they answer what they THINK the asker is asking. An example might be umm .. If an asker asks if women like short men. Many people will assume he must be short and they will try to make him feel better about being short, but that's not answering his question. Another thing people do is they just plain don't answer the question at all. An example might be, if a 7th grader asks what he can do to get a girlfriend, I wouldn't respond with, you're too young etc. If he's too young, his parents will decide that. I'll just answer the question. Give her flowers or whatever.
I usually try to be as detail as I can. I give all the information I think I would want to have if I were asking the question. Sometimes I might find a funny way to answer it, unless it's a very serious question. I try to keep the same tone as the asker.
Just by do those very basics things I manage to get almost 1 in 5 best answers.

Very often my answers are too long winded, thing is I really want to help if I can.
Very often my answers have been picked and it has been the ones with the short version, to the point, and friendly.
I think before I answer and sometimes when I preview and read it slowly I realise that the questioner may not need all that I have put down, so I delete some.
I usually try to pick questions that I have either experienced myself or know someone who has.
If it is a witty question then I shall answer the same way.
Keep going kid, you will get it in the end, just take your time and have fun.
Good luck...xx

You need to think more about the answers you give - although you have given some good responses they are either very brief (one word) or just not informative enough.
Sometimes if I see a question I like and not sure how to answer I'll quickly have a google - but you still must know what you are writing about - its a good way of learning about various stuff too!
This isn't only about being given just an answer - the person asking the question may really want to be informed and learn something.....anything, even if it means just having a laugh at the silly answer you may have given, in the nicest sense...obviously. :o)

Be honest, detailed, witty, and original. OR... just find a question with only one response, yours :/ :P. As long as you persist consistently, there's a greater chance that you'll get one. Also try sitting down to answer at least ten rather than just one or two, this will also increase your chances. Find a question that you're passionate about and pour it out onto the net. Hang in there, it happens eventually.

Just give a answer directly relevant to there question and make it detailed towards their question, eg what pet should i get?
do you think this, "a dog" or this "depends on how much effort you are willing to put in and what you preferances are etc as there are so many different types of pet to choose from etc etc" is going to get best answer.
People who answer stupidly dont get it, although one of my best answers was by relating jsmaes blunt to a tosspot but i doubt il get another like that!

Well - I've been doing this a day and have two faves... the only thing I can think is:
Give accurate, informative and useful answers - back 'em up with some research and be friendly.

Considering that you have only been registered for just under a week. I would say that you will get plenty of them as your time in here lenghtens..
It is up to the asker to give best answer, or if it goes to the voters, then it's up to them..
Just be patient, you will have plenty of them soon enough..
Blessings.. )O(

Be honest, witty, give a little insight into your life, if it's a joke, answer with a joke instead of just saying lol or something.
