if all the other gears work really good id have a transmission shop check it out first,i have seen them do that and reverse go completely out of them,i wouldn't make any judgment on it yet though,it could be something that can be repaired, and its also possible that it could be reverse completely gone out on it,i had a sunbird that did that ,everything else worked right, have it checked and get a hands on opinion on it,good luck.

First, check the cable linkage. There have been cases where the cable does not allow the shift linkage at the transmission to slip into the proper setting. Now if the trans fluid is brown, and has a burnt odor to it, I would suggest you find a trans shop that is willing to test it out. If memory serves, a 93 does have a couple of tests that can be run to check the transmission operation. In many cases, a rebuild can be done, normally a "new" transmission is only needed when the case is damaged during catastrophic failure or a wreck. Good luck

The short answer with a 93 is the transmission will cost more than the car is worth. This is going to sound crazy but...nose up to a very stable object (like a big oak tree) and slowly accelerate being careful not to spin the wheels ....just keep the gears in tension(do Not spin the wheels). It may be an old wives tale but this is to "adjust the bands". I had a 63 ford that was slipping between shifts and this worked wonders..
BE SAFE ABOUT IT AND DO NOT SPIN THE WHEElS..If it works cool if not then get out the wallet

The problem that comes to my mind is a simple rubber grommet outside your transmission. There is a shaft that goes through it. The shaft is part of the linkage used to shift the transmission. A 14-year-old rubber grommet has seen better days.

a venture with the atf cooler is what includes innovations. that could desire to be inner to the radiator so issues can get complicated in a hurry. because of the fact the motor vehicle is two decades previous, changing the radiator as an entire would not be a bad element.

No not really. shifter is on the floor, so it could and probably IS the cable linkage,. Consider having it checked.
