The x is a symbol for the word Christ. It is a religious symbol. It has been used for centuries. I do not get offended, it means Christ! It means Christ...................

No.

I never did, but especially don't now that I've heard a really interesting story about the early Christians, and how when they referred to themselves (or really, to other groups of believers), they would use an "X," because at that time, Christians were being persecuted.

The "X" represented where they would meet, if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway....

Just a lot of people who are looking for something to be offended about. Replacing the word "Christ" with "X" has a lot less to do with "taking Christ out of Christmas" than overmarketing the holiday to fuel young souls with greed and for huge soulless corporations to end the final quarter on a high note.

If it's written it doesn't make a difference to me. I write it that was as well. But when people actually say ("X" mas) out loud instead of christmas, that annoys me for some reason. But doens't offend me in any way.

I don't celebrate "Christmas" in any way shape or form to celebrate Christ. I am not religious. It doesn't annoy me if anyone type hoopla instead of Christmas. I spell it out because that's the name of it. However, the actual Holiday did NOT form because of Christ. It means little to me what people call it. I celebrate the holidays for family, giving, happiness and fun!

I think it's silly to get offended over such things. There are far important things in the world to get offended over. People are way to sensitive these days.

i dont get offended but i do see a problem. the CHRIST in CHRISTmas is the essential part of the word. the CHRIST refers to Jesus. and there for by cutting out the CHRIST you r making CHRISTmas just like every other holiday. commercialized. it also makes people think that CHRISTmas isnt about Jesus but just another holiday. christmas is a celebration of Jesus's birth and that is the way it should be
