If people are single they want to be with someone. If someone has money, they want more. Why can't we be fully content with what we currently have?

That's too broad a question.
What if my current situation was:
I'm dying of cancer
I'm being raped by my father
I'm going hungry because my mother is drinking away my food money.
If things are going majorly wrong for someone..they'll never be happy in their situation.
However I do see your point..if you're living a pretty okay life..at least be okay with it. People have it much worse than you.
