I used to have my lip pierced but I got punched in the face and it nearly ripped it out so I stopped wearing it and the hole closed. And I'm thinking of getting a tattoo.

I have my ear's pierced and every since I had them done (15 years ago or more) I have become allergic to everything that is not pure gold or silver. My ear lobes get infected a lot if I wear earrings.
I have a tattoo on the inside of my ankle that HURT LIKE HECK! IT is a pink heart with a turquoise rose behind it and my daughters name above it. I had it done in three parts. The first was the heart to see if I could handle the pain, which I could just barely. Well, the heart just started to look like a birthmark instead of a tattoo, so I bit my lip and went back in to get the turquoise rose put behind it. Then at a convention I was at, I won either a free piercing or a free tattoo and since the piercings didn't work so well for me, I got my daughters name tattooed above the original artwork and then had the original artwork recolored.
From this last experience, I found out that it hurts a LOT for the first 15-20 minutes and then after that, it sort of goes numb and you get a sort of pain rush. I don't recommend tattoos (my religious beliefs now are against it and they can be addicting) but I figured I would at least share my experiences with you for you to make you own choice on the matter.

am waiting to get a tattoo. get as many as wanted -- as long as they're a work of art when put-together (ie; not a cartoon character with meaningful, ancient symbols). piercings: tongue & "genitalia" piercings aren't kewl. i like nice, complimentary piercing(s) -- such as, several earrings for each ear; thru the wall of the nose in the corner by the front (maybe a tradition in india?). but a ring or "wand" thru both nostrils is gross, detracting from ones natural good looks. i prefer tattoos where they can be seen. after all, isn't that the point to show your message or sign of identity? (for instance: back of hands; between elbow & wrist; on the chest across the clavicle area). my tattoo will be between the elbow and wrist; a second would be on the other arm, same place.

I have 4 piercings in one ear lobe, three piercings in another, and a tatoo on my left forearm that extends from the inner crook of the elbow to the wrist...I'm planning another on the back of my right shoulder.. Had the top of my left ear pierced, too but after 4 years of infections I let it close....
my tatoo is a ruby throated hummingbird hovering over blue morning glories...it's a memory of the morning glories my Dad had planted around the back porch steps..in the Summers as a kid I would sit quietly and watch the Hummers feed....I got it when my Dad passed.......

No I do not have any piercings or tattoos. But I am thinking about getting my lip pierced by a friend of mine and thinking about getting a tattoo at LA Ink or Miami Ink.

Tonight's avatar- Egyptian Eyes, is one of my three tattoos. My tongue was pierced until I cracked a tooth and spent $500 to fix it. My nipples are pierced. I love my tattoos and want more. tattoojohnny.com is where I got my last tat.

I have 11 piercings in one ear and 10 in the other I go from small tiny hoops to larger ones all 14K.
I have 2 tiny hoops in my right nostril 14K.
I have 1 nipple rings / sometimes wear a shield (man this was PAIN)
I have both legs tattoed (3 tats)
chest (2 tats)
both arms (2 tats)
feet both with flames coming from my toes!
finally my tongue!

ouch, that really sounds like it hurt. just don't get your nipples pierced. not only is it kinda gay,but can you imagine how bad that would hurt if someone decided to rip those out? if you are gonna get a tattoo just make sure it is something you are comfortable with and don't mind having the rest of your life. i have three, and i put them in places that people can see them only if i want them too. despite what narrow minded people say about tattoos, i really did just get them for me. and please please, I'm begging you, don't get dragons,skulls, or Chinese characters. so overdone, so lame.
