Of course a ton is 2,000#. It would depend on how much each bale weighs.

Some bales can be much heavier or lighter than 50 pounds. I just put up some that are much closer to 60 and we've put up others this year that were no more than 30. Weights can vary within a batch of hay as well. If you're buying by the ton you'll want to weigh at least 3 or 4 bales and average the weight to determine how many bales you'll get per ton.

Depends on the weight of the hay. If it's average 50 lb bales, then a ton would be right around 40 bales.

Depends on the bales. The ones I used to buck were about 140 pounds, or 14 per ton. It varies depending on the moisture content too. There were also smaller 70 pound bales.

how much does each bale weigh? then you can figure it out do you want to know the metric or imperial?metric is 2240 lbs to the ton Imperial is 2000 pounds per ton.
