You would divide 10 by 100 to get 0.1.
0.1*45=$4.50.

for percents by 10s just move the decimal one place to the left and thats 10%

like 45.--> 4.5

ok here is the answer:
You %10 of 45 is the same with 10% of 45 right?
10%=10/ 100=0.1
so we multiply 0.1 and 45
and we'll have: 4.5
