best bargains are available last 24-48 hours before X'mas. Merchants are desparate to get rid of overstock and mark it down 50 % or more. Will be even worse for stores this year because of the OUTRAGEOUS energy prices and MANY more people will shop on line to save gas.

This is the first year I've been shopping for the past few months. I only stopped because I used to get paid weekly, and now I only get paid monthly so I wanted to even out some of the financial burden! I always started the day after Thanksgiving right up until Christmas. I am sure I will still do somethings right up until the end. The thing is, I love shopping so I don't mind at all. I don't get all insane like some people do with the holiday rush. I basically enjoy every second of it.

i do my shopping few months before xmas. but the best time is right after the holidays, and xmas day or eve everything is on sale...the only bad thing is ppl tste changes sou might buy something they liked then but dont when xmas comes around again. i just usually start in november cuz then they know wut they want, and store really kick up the production so things wont run out.
i love shopping though, except when i buy someone something that i want also...lol...hahaha...
i dont get all rush-rush, it think most ppl r pretty chill about the shopping seasons though. but some ppl just get kinda edgy cuz the financial burden, doing something other than nothing, and being able to pick out the PERFECT gift.

No, Im Jewish. We don't go xmas shopping. We do get to watch all of you running around like chickens with no heads though, which is pretty entertaining.
Seriously though, it's a nice time of year. Everyone seems to be more friendly, more open, smiles a lot more, and it just seems like a more peaceful time - under all the rushing around. I don't mind people telling me Merry Xmas or whatever, they are just being friendly and nice.
EDIT: Well, I guess I spoke too soon. I should have said "everyone seems to be more friendly" EXCEPT people who gave me a thumbs down for my answer. Jeez! How rude.

I start my Christmas shopping each January, when most stores slash prices and I can get great deals. I have had most of it done since July. I am completely finished with all shopping except for my father and my father-in-law, and I already know that my husband and I are buying them both digital photo frames when we find a good price.
I have 3 sisters, 2 sisters-in-law, and mom and mom-in-law and lots of girlfriends to buy for, so I shop January to July for them. Most Semi-Annual sales are in those two months... Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Yankee Candle Company... all favorites of the women I know and shop for.
I also shop at the party stores early in the year for out-of-season stuff... last year I got $120 worth of cards, bags, bows, platters, etc. for $23. I found 3 rolls of cute, sturdy wrapping paper at Old Navy for $1.25 for all 3, originally $8.50.
All in all, I have saved 50-80% on nearly all of the gifts we are giving this year. I plan on doing the same thing next year and every year after. You never know when you will find the perfect gift for someone.

Both. I buy some things for people during the year if I just see them while I'm shopping for whatever, and then when everything starts going on sale before christmas, I buy the last few things. Works out perfectly.

I'm usually done shopping by mid December. My dad and his wife wait until the last second every year though. It makes me mad. I have 8 brothers and sisters so a lot of times they would have me do the shopping for them. I went to see them last year 2 days before Christmas and they handed me some money and said go get Hanna and PJs gifts.

2 issues... a million. do no longer tell eachother what you prefer for Christmas. in case you rather be attentive to eachother you ought to be waiting to get eachother stable presents, and be happy with what you bought. component to the relaxing of Christmas isn't understanding what you will get. 2. you're being bratty. think of roughly what Christmas fairly is and give up being egocentric. no longer getting a handbag isn't the top of the international.

No, I do it a few months before up until Christmas. This question made me laugh, though, because my husband is "often angry" when we go Christmas shopping. LOL! What a Grinch!
