First off, not every woman ovulates on day 14 of her cycle. Some women have short cycles and ovulate earlier. And, even for the average woman, a week after her period has ended is considered within her fertile window. Sperm can survive in a woman's body for up to 5 days, if the right conditions are present. So, if you have sex on day 12 (which is generally a week after a period has ended, for the average person) - a woman could be ovulating right then and get pregnant, but even if she didn't ovulate until day 17, she could still get pregnant because the sperm could have survived that long.

By having an average cycle. That si the most common time. A week after their period ends would be around 10-14 days. If they have the "average 28 days cycle and have the "average" 14 day luteal phase.....

You ovulate a week after your period. Every woman is different some even ovulate while on their period. Some ovulate twice a month. You can get pregnant at anytime and is not regulated or consistantly the same among women. Hope this helped you.

I had sex ON my period and now have a son.

We dont cycle like the tide my dear. Our bodies do what they want when they want, and without warning or reason.

Each woman ovulates on a different day, and any woman can ovulate on fluke days, or multiple times in a cycle. There is no fail-proof normal with our bodies.

because you are almost due to ovulate so therefore the egg is still in the ovary and the sperm travels up through there to get to the egg so the egg gets fertilized as it is traveling and when it hits the uterus it attaches and the baby starts to grow.
