I am on BC pills (Levora) as of a week ago, to which I am extremely faithful to. My bf and I (who were both virgins- so no STDs to worry about) just started having sex. We use Trojan condoms with spericide in them, and he also pulls out.. I CANNOT get pregnant, it would ruin my whole life as I am not married to him yet (though we will be soon! :D) and I am still in college. I would never get an abortion because I feel that they are wrong. My parents CANNOT know I am doing any of this because according to their rules, I am still not allowed to kiss. Pregnancy would totally ruin my and my honey's life. Is there anything else I can do to make SURE I dont get pregnant, and if by some horrible mishap, is there any way I can find out if I am pregnant right away? I would really like any help. Thanks...

To A.P.: Yes, I mean literally kiss, my parents do not allow me to kiss, hold hands or be alone with any boy for any reason. (including my bf/fiance of over a year). I'm not going to pick fights, but I do not appriciate being called "between the realm of "idiot" and "moron" ". I chose to have sex, with precausions. That is why I am asking this question. thank you.
To others: thank you for your time answering my question, particularly Dolyn. Thank you.

Well, the BC pills don't take full effect until 3 months of use, so if you REALLY want to be careful, you can abstain from sex for 3 months (I know that sounds terrible, but part of being a grown up and having sex is doing what you have to do to make sure no accidents happen. Also, spermicidal condoms are great, and if he's ALSO pulling out, well that's a mighty strong birth control plan you have there. some might call it over kill, but short of actually NOT having sex, I'd say it's the most effective plan I've ever heard. The pills should keep you from ovulating, the condom would stop his ejaculate from getting in you if something did happen, and even if the condom broke, the spermicide plus pill combo is pretty effective. If you managed to get pregnant using all that, that would be pretty sad and one for the books.

As for IF you managed to get pregnant, I don't see why you'd need to know right away if you weren't going to get an abortion. But, pregnancy cannot be detected any faster than with a home pregnancy test, which is set to detect even the slightest amount of hormone present after you have missed a period. You can even get a pretty good result the day after your missed period.

So, just keep up with ALL those methods. Don't slack, and I think you'll be fine. Good luck.

Wow. I'm kinda wondering what is even the point of having sex if you have to go through all that.... Are you sure you wouldn't be more comfortable just abstaining? You wouldn't have to go through all that crap or sneak around and lie to your parents or worry about pregnancy.

But to answer your question - no there's not really anything else you can do, except not have sex. And there's also no way to find out "right away" if you end up conceiving. You can't find out through a home test until about 2 weeks after conception, and you can find out with a blood test a little earlier, but not right after. It takes the fertilized egg 6-12 days to implant in the uterus, and that is the point when your body begins producing the hormone that a pregnancy test is looking for.

Sure, there's something else you can do to not get pregnant. don't have sex. If you aren't ready to deal with the consequences, don't make the choice.

If pregnancy would RUIN your life, then you're probably somewhere between the realm of "idiot" and "moron" to have sex. Even if you use all the precautions in the world, the only way to guarantee you won't get pregnant is to either have a hysterectomy or not have sex.

And if you're in college, and your parents say you aren't even allowed to "kiss" (and unless kiss is code for something else, I'd say this is a pretty important issue here), your parents need some kind of psychiatric help.

First, in case you're that paranoid you are able to try not having intercourse. in case you will do it besides then determine you're being secure. 2d, i don't think of you have the want to make your self sterile. you are able to wish childrens some day. additionally, contracting an STD won't avert you from becoming to be pregnant. the only a hundred% thank you to not get pregnant is to not have intercourse. As a young person, you will not hit upon a doctor (expert) who will "sterilize" you. it rather is even annoying to discover guy or woman who will do it in case you're on your early 1920s.

you cant tell until you're late for your period.

the pill wont be effective for a month, and not fully for 3. The condoms and the sermicide, and the pull out all together are waaaay over kill. You're not going to get pregnant doing all those things.

If you're really that concerned about it why cant you just wait until you are married? If you're so close anyhow, whats a few more months?

KEEP USING CONDOMS AND GO GET SOME BIRTH CONTROL ASAP!! ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN. PULLING OUT DOESN'T KEEP YOU FROM CONCEIVING, TRUST ME, I KNOW. THAT IS HOW I GOT MY 1ST BABY. GOOD LUCK.
