My first year anniversary with my husband is fastly approaching, and I want to do something really nice for him. He has always been there for me. We have had a tough first year, my father was admitted to the intense of care on the day of our wedding...and died a few days later. I never would have made it through without his support...our funds are significantly low, so if anyone has any great ideas that does not require money...I'm all ears. Thanks in advance....

The symbol of the first anniversary is paper. There are few things cheaper. You seem an articulate person, so perhaps a letter to tell him what he means to you, how much you love him and why (and of course a special meal cooked with love means a lot and won't break the bank).

An anniversary is about celebrating your marriage. Put on a sexy outfit and make him dinner at the house. Then plan for a great night!!! I believe paper is given for the first anniversary, You can write him a letter about how much he means to you. Make it you guys' day!!! Congrats!!! My 3rd anniversary is on Nov. 14!!!!!

Make a special card on your computer or out of something you have around the house...a special pic of you both on the card...a nice dinner with candles...dress for the occassion...and spoil him with all your attention the whole evening.

Depending on your tradition, traditional gifts are paper or clocks, so use that as starting point.

make the day all about him. it doesn't have to cost much at all. just enough to buy some food and massage oil.
