Do You Believe the Government is Covering Up the Existence of UFO's?

Larry King had a program on this subject. A Conference to Reveal Sightings is Planned by Various Governments and Groups. Jimmy Carter says he saw "something." Many pilots report incidents of unidentified aircraft. Then, too, there is the lingering mystery of Roswell, New Mexico, with many people vowing they saw a UFO crash. Yet the government has denied this for many years, blaming the phenonema on everything from Swamp Gas to Exploding Stars. Do you believe there is someone out there? Do you believe the government has been lying to us all along?

i fail to see the real question if one uses good logic....in a cosmos infinite possibilities exist on many levels, so it is absurd to think that our species would be the only one interested in traversing the cosmos. there is no reason there shouldn't be species far more intelligent and far, far older and therefore able to travel, here, or anywhere they wish probably.
and yes, there is much documentation and there have been many people recently who have retired from government positions and are now telling their stories about various incidents with flying objects AND occupants.....
i have always wondered why it is difficult for some to believe that this is and has been happening since probably before we even evolved to where we are now.
do a google search on ufo's in ancient art....15th, 16th and 17th century paintings, it's amazing and all kinds of food for thought!
btw, i think the government has covered this up and ridiculed it for all these years because they really have no CONTROL over what the visitors do, and they wouldn't ever admit that to the public....
i saw a craft very close while it hovered for several minutes before it went away at warp speed from a sitting still position following the terrain as it went away. the event happened in 1963 and i guarantee that NO country on our planet has flying craft like that i saw even NOW!....

Let me just say that I have a problem with the wording of such questions. Take the initials UFO. Understood literally, it simply means "unidentified flying objects." Nothing more. The term doesn't stand for any theory about what any object is or isn't.

So the only possible answer to the question: do UFOs exist, is "of course." The most logical next thing to say is "so what?"

Jimmy Carter, as you say, "saw something." What he saw has never been identified. It is, therefore, unidentified. So whatever it was, it was and is a UFO by definition. Therefore they, or at least one of them, exists.

Nor has the government "covered up" the fact that UFOs in this simple sense exist. Has any government official ever tried to tell you that the former President was lying when he said that? I doubt it. And of course Carter was himself a government official of rather high rank for four years.

What you might mean is that the government, or some parts of it, does know what some of these objects are, and is covering up that. You might even mean that the government is covering up the existence of other-world visitors. If you mean that, please say that, or ask about that.

But then they'd be "identified," wouldn't they? So those which were known (by the insiders) to be alien spacecraft or whatever wouldn't be UFOs anymore, would they? So they wouldn't exist AS UFOs, would they?

No I don't think there is a conspiracy. I am undecided on the existance of UFOs though I think that most reported sightings are bogus or just made up. How many thousands of people would have to be involved in a coverup that is supposed tobe going on for decades? You can't coverup anything in the US and that is clear. Any cop will tell you that if two people are involved in a crime that crime will be solved. Thousands, hundreds of thousands of military people, government officials, scientists? Thats so crazy! When there is no truth to something the only way to give it credibility is to say "coverup" or conspiracy and it will gain the support of the lunatic fringe. Possible that there is intelligent life in another galaxy and if so it will be proven by science (who will be eager to announce it) not phonies who make a living by fooling people. The "lingering mystery" in Roswell is the tourist industry that lures people there to sell them carnival junk. Roswell AFB was involved in the development of the SR71 spyplane used for about twenty years after the U2. The rest is just entertainment that some take too far. Why do UFOs only visit and abduct rednecks? Why not a scientist or government leader? What is the fascination with rednecks. It may be fun to want to believe but to claim a coverup, well thats just nuts and discredits real research on the subject.

Yes they are covering up.
If the USA has a weird metal sphere the size of a child's kick ball with no visual opening that can hover and dart in the blink of an eye then I am Glad that I live here but very pissed off they are keeping all of this advanced tech from the people.

Also there are tons of military people who have come forward to talk about Alien encounters and so on.
The government lies all the time so I would be more apt to believe a person who actually witness things.

yes, there is UFO's out there that are many 100's of years more advanced then we are. How do you explain the fact that since roswell crash, man kind has seen many advances in the science / electronic world since the crash. Before that, things pretty much stayed the same. But after that, advances started to happen which gave us modern machines as we know today. The space ship was torn apart by the government to see what made it tick. That is how we were able to get to the moon in 1969.

Yes!! Unequivocally Yes !!! The preponderance of evidence and common sense and the simple fact that it has been consistently denied and covered up even from Congressmen shows the extent of absolute secrecy involved!

Why ? As Carl Sagan said, the Powers that Be fear that the foundation of the "Religious Order of things would tumble down so lets not upset the Cosmic Apple Cart!

Since you asked, this is what I think about UFO's.

First of all, belief is the ingredient or power that creates reality.

I have never seen a UFO myself. This does not mean either I believe in them or that I don't believe in them. All it says is that I have never seen one.

If UFO's are real then where are they? Just show me the proof! If you really have proof I will be the first to stand up to the world and say they are real!!!

Just so everyone knows, I got Missouri blood in me. Hahaha and that don't mean I am slow. All it means is you better be able to show me!

I've seen a lot of the shows on the history channel about government cover ups. However, IMHO, I think it's just the military trying to hide all its new secret weaponry; and sometimes-when it accidentally gets noticed-they initiate the propaganda blaming it all on UFO's.

Can you imagine the cover up when one of them lands right on the White House lawn at high noon! George will head straight for the bunker and soil himself when they tell him the occupants want to be taken to their leader! This has probably already happened and the government will forever deny it!
