Yes. Being a boy babysitter helped distinguish me from the competition. I babysat my way through high school and developed a popular reputation among parents. I still do it from time to time now, but not as much. I also served as nanny to few families. It was lots of fun and a better job for a teenager than being a grocery bagger or fast food worker. Some of the kids are teens now and still are in touch with me.

Yes & I was the best ever. I wasn't the type to watch tv or talk on the phone. I actually supervised & interacted with the kids. I would take this special box I made. It had everything from coloring books, crayons & paper to little toys. The point was that kids get bored with their own stuff but this stuff I brought was new to them. (they didn't get to keep the stuff I brought, unless they drew a picture or something. The point was to keep it fresh & exciting for them.) I would also do things like take a "nature walk" in their own backyards & ask them to look for little bugs or leaves. Usually they were too busy running around to notice the cool nature stuff in their own backyard, so this was really fun to them. Then we would take the leaf, glue it to construction paper & make an "art project" out of it. By keeping their interest they behaved better for me & I was never bored & did my job well.

Yes. Some children have made me think twice about wanting kids, myself.
Other times they're so sweet.
I've made so much cash-moneyyy off babysitting though, so it is worth it in the end.

yes when I was a teenager w/out kids of my own... and FROM THAT EXPERIENCE i have never had a teen sitter w/out kids of their own for MY babysitter. lol not really joking either, pretty scary!
