Hi, I have lately been having problems with this group of kids. They are always sitting infront of my house. When i drive to my mailbox to get my mail, one of these kids likes to come infront of the car to annoy me. I have talked to him about this and he just acts dumb. I am fed up with these kids sitting around and disturbing my peace. They ring the doorbell and run off sometimes. They threatened to sexually asault my daughter. Should i call the cops? What should i do?

If they're threatening to assault your daughter either to you or to her, I would definitely call the cops. A threat verbalized constitutes an attempt. If you say to someone, "I'm gonna kill you", that is considered attempted murder. Of course, that is hardly ever prosecuted, unless the threat is real and the person being threatened fears for their safety. If your fearful of retribution, any documentation with the authorities will only back you up should something happen down the road. If they're on your property, call it trespassing and call the cops.

They continue to harass you probably because you haven't done anything to retaliate in the past and because they're little punk a** kids that think they can goad you into assault on a minor.

It is time to call the cops. They do not need to hang at your place - apparently they know better than to try and hang at their parents' places. Let the cops know that they are loitering and threatening your daughter. The cops should be able to help and to get you the info on their parents. The parents are responsible for the actions of their under 18 children and you need to let the parents know what their kids are threatening. You should be able to get an injunction that the parents are legally bound to help enforce - it will limit them from approaching or being close to your property. That will be done to protect your daughter - the threat is a very serious offense, particularly heinous if your daughter is under-age.

I would definately call the police and file a report cuz then if something does happen then it will be on file and you will have proof. Also I would post a no trespassing sign up so when they trespass they will get in big trouble. I don't know how old they are but if they are really young like 15 and under I would go to their parents but if they are older than that it might make things worse by doing that. Make sure you tell your daughter to beware and not to talk to them.

This is definately an issue that you can call the police for on grounds of public disturbance.

ESPICALLY if they're threatening you're daughter with sexual assult.
Call the police if things get too out of hand but other then that file a report soon as you can.

Yes call the police and report that. That pisses me off. That is your house and your family.

btw, the ringing of the doorbell and running off is typical stupid kid behavior. but...being on your property and walking in front of your car to get the mail...and the threat...that crosses the line, obviously, and you MUST take action.

I think it depends on how old the kids are. If they're under 16, I would say go talk to their parents about their kids' bad behavior. If it continues after that, go talk to the parents again, and this time say that you'll call the police if the behavior continues. If they're 16 or older, I'd talk to them, and let them know that if they keep doing what they're doing, you'll call the police. Then follow up on it.

Screw going to parents. They obviously aren't doing a good job. I was a bad kid growing up and I know that the cops will scare them silly. You need to get all this on record in case you need to defend your family and bust one of their asses. I would file a suit, tape them loitering and harassing you and arm yourself. I know it sounds harsh, but the assaulting your daughter thing is making me sick. This sounds serious. Kids are very capable of very violent crimes now. I'm in NJ if you need help.

Yes, call the cops. These brats are way out of line, and just the threats are a serious offense.

You drive to your mailbox !!! that's one heck of a drive.

Seriously though, Get them on video so you have evidence, then file a complaint. You have a right to privacy.
