Bones take an average of 6-8 weeks to heal no matter what bone is broken.

Funny you should ask that question. Two weeks ago I broke my right clavicle (collar bone) after a fall. Instead of a sling, they gave me what is called a figure 8 clavicle clasp. It is a device that goes around the shoulders (kind of like bra straps) and keeps the clavicle in place.

at this moment I feel pain still, especially if I try to raise my right arm. In another week I should be able to raise my right arm with only slight discomfort. But the bone healing depends on the person. Some people only take four weeks. Some people take up to three months to fully heal.

My advice to you is simple.
Take plenty of calcium suppliments- it will help the bone heal faster.
DO NOT MOVE IT UNLESS YOU HAVE TO! more movement equals more stress to the affected area.

any more questions about it? ask me! just e-mail me
:)

Get well soon!

My youngest son broke his collar bone when he was 7, and it took his about 6 weeks to heal, he had to wear a sling for comfort too, keep this on until you start to feel better, it will help it heal faster too.
