and you please give an intelligent, moral reason why, that makes you sound like a decent human being who cares about life and what happens to others other than you ...as in me me me first, and if it takes the ruining of the life of 10 million people and hundreds of thousand innocents to die to make you feel snug and comfy, than thats a sacrifice you are willing to have them make for you?

First, you seem to think I care about your opinion, or that I think you are capable of the intellect required to determine what an intelligent answer is, or that you are granted by some divine authority the capacity to pass moral judgment.

Second, you, in your “question” have already stipulated that anybody who disagrees with your narrow view (1) doesn’t care about life, (2) doesn’t care what happens to others, (3) doesn’t care about the lives or safety of others, (4) has the sole purpose of feeling comfy and snug.

First, I don’t care what the likes of you think. I deny you the right to make any judgment that is binding upon me. In the grand scheme of things, your opinion doesn’t bother me in the slightest… nor should it bother any thinking human capable of walking on its hind legs.

Second, since I’ve already denied you any ability to affect me, here’s the answer to your question. If I cared about your opinion, I wouldn't bother answering.

When I’m walking down the street and I see a guy picking on somebody, I intervene. If I walk past an alley and hear a woman scream, I stop to help. If I’m driving down the freeway and see a car parked along side the road, I stop and offer assistance.

None of my business? Suppose it was you being picked on, or screaming for help in a dark alley, or sick or incapacitated at the side of the road?

We are not living half a world from the Middle East. We are living only a few short hours from them. When a neighbor needs my help, I freely offer it… even if they are not able to ask, or are too embarrassed to ask. Iraq was being taken advantage of by a mean, ruthless bully. They needed our help to get the jerk off their backs. We did that.

But, when that bad guy was gone, a host of others came into the alley intent on picking up where the other bad guy left off. They have no interest in the individual, they have no interest in anything but the wealth that individual has. They are greedy. They are power-hungry, They want to rule the streets. They don’t care about the people who live in the area. They only want to exploit them… just as they have done for centuries… and by the same means… terror.

Now, I’ve been inside the enemy’s mind. I’ve faced him in places you’ve never heard of. I’ve looked into his eyes. I’ve taken the best he had to give and I’m still here… and in almost all cases, he’s not. And because he’s not, innocent non-combatants are alive today. I think that makes me a little more qualified to figure out what this enemy is doing than one who watches a 20 minutes of drug commercials broken by 10 minutes of 60-second news spots.

We are in Iraq because the enemy is there. The enemy is not the Iraqi people. It is not the Sunni, or even the Taliban Muslims. The is nothing more than street punks who represent a small minority, and want their minority to run the streets. And they do that by terrorizing the people. When we leave, if Iraq is unable to defend herself, the punks will take over. You think the terror will stop then? If you do, you’re mistaken. There are more people by far who would be governed that who would be governing. Terror would be the means to keep them in line… just as it was for Hussein.

If you think that’s egocentric (me-me-me), that’s your problem… not mine.

I have been there and done that. I have saved more lives than I’ve taken. I’ve given medical aid and food to the people of a village all but destroyed by an enemy who if fact cared not a whit for the people of the village and only attacked it because one of its inhabitants had been seen talking to a soldier who happened to be a Medic whose aid was being sought for a child. I’ve taken out vermin infesting a country in an effort to allow the people of that country to farm, and continue governing themselves in peace.

And you don’t think the people… US and Iraqi… who are fighting and dying to rid Iraq of Hussein II, are only thinking of themselves? And you think I give a darn about your opinion of me? When the demons come knocking on your door for their pound of flesh, you had better pray there are some like our service personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere around the world, like those who have gone before, and I pray will be there in the future, is within ear shot… and really cares about your miserable life… regardless of your opinion of them.

Regardless of whether it is a moral war, a just war, or even a legal war, the bottom line is it IS A CURRENT WAR. You just don't quit fighting in the middle of a war if things don't turn out like you had hoped. America MUST finish this war, conclusively, and victoriously, or we will cease to exist as "free" Americans.

Our troops removed a criminal regime that was killing its citizens to test it weapons. It allowed its army to rape, women.
They used force, and fear to keep its people in line. Would you care to have your head bashed in just because you didn't move fast enough when you where told.
For the most part if you where an Iraqi citizen before we came in you would have no rights. You would live your life as you where told, and your life could be ended at someone else's whim.

In any war fought in the history of the world, there have been civilian casualties. I feel sorry for those innocents that have been killed, but keep in mind, it is not USA forces that are killing them, its the insurgents. I sleep well at night, I am not going to make myself feel guilty just because I am more fortunate than those that live amongst the danger.

We can either fight this war now or our children can later. If we take the latter course the fight will be on our own home soil. So do you want to leave this fight for the next generation?

Bush's war is illegal and immoral. It should never have happened. European estimates are that 1 millions Iraqi civilians have died for Bush's greed. We need to admit our mistakes, leave Iraq and let them sort out the mess we have made of their country. Every day we stay there and every life we take there and every American we lose there just compounds the evil we have perpetrated there.

Most people who think we belong there know so little, the actually still believe Iraq was connected to 9-11.

My goosh...people are crazy...It just goes to show and prove my point that no one understands what we are fighting for in this war.....Does anyone really think we went into this to fight for our own freedom??? I sure as hell didn't get that memo....I remember something about WMD's, Saddam supporting terror...blah blah blah...all lies..... So why are you all thinking this is about our freedom?? There was no evidence to show that Iraq was a threat to us....and there was no connection of Iraq to 9/11, although Bush and all the conservatives/rep's would argue different....I'm kind of surprised the conservative/rep's aren't coming out saying that Saddam was actually flying one of the planes....GO ENJOY YOUR BIG BOWL OF BRAINWASHING REPS...

You have described the enemy and how it feels about us and anyone else who does not conform to there ideologies and fanatical religion. If we want to survive and continue to live life as we know it we will have no choice but to confront this evil and destroy it. Just as our fathers and there fathers and generations of Americans before them have done when faced with an enemy who is willing to do anything in the name of there religion, leaders, emperors and kings to see the destruction of western civilization. If this nation is to continue on then we must fight or else cease to exist. We owe our survival to all those who came before us and to those who we will pass this torch of freedom onto in the next chapter of our great struggle and story. Suicide attackers
The aim to cause maximum American casualties
Total disregard for other casualties, including Muslim
Meticulous long-term planning
Absence of warning.
Al Qaida retains the capability and the will to make further attacks on the US and its allies, including the United Kingdom.
Al Qaida gives no warning of terrorist attack."terrorising the American occupiers [of Islamic Holy Places] is a religious and logical obligation."
In February 1998 he issued and signed a 'fatwa' which included a decree to all Muslims:
". . . the killing of Americans and their civilian and military allies is a religious duty for each and every Muslim to be carried out in whichever country they are until Al Aqsa mosque has been liberated from their grasp and until their armies have left Muslim lands."
In the same 'fatwa' he called on Muslim scholars and their leaders and their youths to
"launch an attack on the American soldiers of Satan."
and concluded:
"We - with God's help - call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God's order to kill Americans and plunder their money whenever and wherever they find it. We also call on Muslims . . . to launch the raid on Satan's US troops and the devil's supporters allying with them, and to displace those who are behind them."
When asked, in 1998, about obtaining chemical or nuclear weapons he said
"acquiring such weapons for the defence of Muslims [was] a religious duty."
In an interview aired on Al Jazira (Doha, Qatar) television he stated:
"Our enemy is every American male, whether he is directly fighting us or paying taxes."

What a outstanding question ? i am totally against any offensive war, I like to see the answers!

I know there are some people who rather have the money they earn bcoz of war, and do not get emotional by the tragedy it results.
