THERE ARE TWO SIDES OF THE COIN. THE INFLUX OF TOO MANY FOREIGN PLAYERS DULL THE LOCALS. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, THE ENGLISH HAVE NOT PLAYED WELL TOGETHER. A FAILURE OF MANAGEMENT OR FAILURE OF PLAYERS?

yeah he is
he is covering up his complete useless-ness on the feild and that fact he couldnt manage a under 10 squad for a school match...
we are in this position because...
1 he is a crap manager
he does not demand respect from players
he cant control the ones with reps thats why he dropped beckham for a bit
he knows nothing about formations
he couldnt direct a defence against a cold...
2 the wrong players are on the pitch
the ones who are playing are not the ones who should be
when gerrard or lampard have a bad game they couldnt give a monkeys because they know steve has not got the sacks to drop them...
if we played players like shorey or carrick or hargreaves earlyer we could be in a better position and have a better choice squad...?
now rooneys injured we are fuc*ed
because crouch, defoe and bent and davies and nugent didnt get time to play when we was not under pressure
we now have to relie on owen (not the future of england)
heskey (not the future of wigan)
and beckham (not the future of his boots)

He could argue you've only mentioned 8 players. Two of which don't seem to be able to play effectively together. One is if not over the hill, then nearing the top. And three of the other five have been blighted by injury.
And, after them, what? We've got a reasonable defence, but a choice of dodgy 'keepers. Some solid back-up midfielders, (Barry, Carrick, Hargreaves) but not much flair. And then, up front, Crouch and a host of underacheivers who can't seem to make the step up (unless we bring back Heskey again!)

He is definitely making excuses
If any English players were better than the foreigners that are playing on the first team of the club, then there would be a lot of English players
I'm angry with McClaren and i hope that he gets fired when england don't qualify.

thats a weak excuse! thats what Trappitoni & FIGC**** said when italy failed in WC 2002 and Euro 04.and that the foriegn players ie: brazilians Argentines africans were playin so well and winning tournament cups, cuz they were gettin better playin in Serie A. while young italian talent wasnt gettin enuff action.England had the least amount of foriegn players for the longest time, now their cryin.i dont see any english in italy, spain, portugal.they're all still in England.1st mistake was hiring a foriegn coach.a futbol pedigree nation shood never half to do that! 2nd they dont have strikers, not 4 as long as i recall.Owen was promising but he all done, injury hampered.Roony,Crouch way overrated.

its an excuse. but i still do believe that a lack of englishmen playing in the premiership will have bad effects in the long run...hope some managers in the epl who thinks that english players are not good enough to be in the league, change their effin ways, or go n manage a foreign club...nyehehehe.

That's a lame excuse.Jose Mourinho said that every national team and club should choose its best players, local or foreign. However duppy players like Joleen Lescott,George McCartney and Benjani have made players like David Nugent,John Pantsil and Nuno Valente so peripheral that they may have to leave their small clubs.

He only needs one good English player per premier club. He's just not doing enough with what's available. But then what do you expect? He had no pedicree as a football manager before taking the England job.

I think he has a point, because no-one knew how good Owen Hargreaves was until he started playing for Man Utd.
Arsenal aren't really helping are they?
