11n - 6 = 9n

Subtract 9n from BOTH sides of the equation:
11n - 9n - 6 = 9n - 9n, which simplifies to
2n - 6 = 0

Add 6 to both sides:
2n -6 +6 =0+6
2n=6

4b + 17 = b + 23
Subtract both 1b and 17 from both sides:
4b-1b + 17-17 = b - 1b + 23-17
3b = 6

11n - 6 = 9n
2n - 6 = 0 (subtract 9n on both side)
2n = 6 (add 6 )
n = 3 (divide by 2)

4b + 17 = b + 23
3b + 17 = 23 ( sub b)
3b = 6 (sub 17)
b = 2 (divide by 3)
