Kansas is not that great? An undefeated team can't get any greater as far as its record goes, so I don't know what you're talking about here. You appear to be saying that because the team doesn't have a super star that means it sucks. Well, not to be contrary, but football is a team sport. The entire team has played well all year. That is why the Jayhawks are undefeated. If they remain undefeated against ISU, MU and the Big XII south champion then they deserve a shot at the national championship.
Mangino is a large person indeed, but that has no bearing on the issue whatsoever.
I too would like to see a tournament schedule for college football.

Dominating once-mighty Nebraska like never before, Todd Reesing threw a school-record six touchdown passes and No. 8 Kansas battered the Huskers 76-39 on Saturday, keeping the surprising Jayhawks in the national championship picture. Todd Reesing has thrown an outstanding 2339 yards, Plus there is Brandon McAnderson who has ran for a total of 807 yards and he's only a FB.

Well, IF they go undefeated that means they will win backtoback against top10 (maybe top5) teams- how could anyone, who isn't an idiot, argue against them playing in the championship.
LS-
I am guessing when you said Kansas's 'league' is pathetic you meant the Big12... yes, having three teams in the top 6 is just pathetic. Also having three programs that any sensible 'all-time best programs' list would place in the top 10 is uber pathetic.
When specifically did 'ND, miami, texas, nebraska' get their 'start' by playing 'poor schedules'??? Not only does that not make any sense but its historically inaccurate.

of course they shouldn't be allowed to play even if they go undefeated..but unfornately the way the bcs gives certain confernces more love than others' kansas will get the nod because its league is pathetic.
I just heard mark may say LSU should be number one because they have the most talent...not because THEY ARE THE BEST TEAM but because they have the most talent. so that kinda tells you how these guys vote and think.
i always believe that if you run the table and are one of only 2 schools left undefeated you should play for the title. i mean after all that's how ND, miami, texas, nebraska, and many other big time schools got their starts..they had poor schedules and were the only one's left undefeated so they got the nod.

If they beat Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship, they deserve to play for the National Championship.
They did beat Missouri and they are ranked #6 and they pounded the heck out of Nebraska and beat Kansas St (which beat Texas)
As for the guy that said they aren't at the top of the polls~ they are ranked #4, what poll are you looking at?

Danny Manning?
There is a reason that they, like Hawaii, are not at the top of the polls now. They're strength of schedule stinks.
