It depends on what you want to spend and how much time you're willing to take to dine. If you want a quick, relatively inexpensive meal then look to the Cashew or Paddy O'Quigley's in the Crossroads district. If you want something a little more upscale the 1924 Main is a great restaurant. You don't have to limit yourself to something right by the Sprint Center. Branch out a bit. If you are stuck there then try the Majestic Steakhouse for good food. If you want bar food then try the Phoenix or John's Upper Deck. There's a place called Minsky's in the River Market nearby that has great pizza. There's also a fun bar called Harry's Country Club and good breakfast over there.

Two Restaraunts that haven't been mentioned: Thai Place at 7th and Walnut. Mango Room (Caribbean style!) at 12th and Main. Both are on the northern part of downtown, but not in the River Market. The Savoy is on 8th Street, within walking distance of "Los Corrals" my favorite authentic mexican restaurant. Red Dragon Chinese Food is on 7th street, near Broadway, too.

Um, right now there's only 1 restaurant open close to the Sprint Center, right across the street. You're going to have to go a few blocks to find something if you're wanting to stay downtown.

Generally, I'll go to either Crown Center, or the Plaza. Much better restaurants there.
