Ok. I was at the movie store today and squatted down to check out a movie on the bottom rack. Mind you, I'm only 25 weeks, but I stood up and my pants became very wet. Less than 5 minutes later, I'm having interesting pressure that I haven't experienced before. It finally stops after about 5 minutes... the baby is still kicking like there is nothing wrong. Did I just happen to have a very heavy discharge brought on by my movements and begin having braxton hicks. I don't think it was enough water to be like water breaking. Also, how do you time your contractions. I guess i might want to be aware of that just on the of chance I do go into pre-term labor.

For all you going to say that I should go to the emergency room, well, if they become more regular, then I'll go. I'm less than 4 blocks away. But i'm not freaking out, just asking.

sound like possible braxton hicks the wetness could be cause of u squattin and since ur baby is bigger it will be pressing on ur bladder so sometimes it can cause some small leaks of urine or discharge but let ur midwife/doctor know it could be something else
i had some problem when i was carrying my son i thought i would go early turns out i went a full 7days late

There have been times during my pregnancies that I have had a lot of discharge that have made me wonder! I have not had any pressure afterwards though. If you are concerned I would go to the hospital, the maternity ward will do a simple litmus test to see if it's amniotic fluid or just discharge. I didn't find thid out until childbirth classes with my first and it has put my mind at ease with each pregnancy to know that the hospital will gladly do a simple test for you if you are concerned. You don't have to experience a gush for your water to break, it could just be a trickle and if you are in an unusual position (like squating) it could become a small gush when you stand, it could also just be discharge or even a little leaking urine, so you never really can tell. Amniotic fluid, they say, has no scent to it or at least not an amonia smell like urine, so hopefully that helps.
Good luck, I hope things turn out o.k.

I think unless you are continually leaking fluid then it was just some extra discharge. one way to check is to put a clean pad in your knickers and check in an hour to see if it is wet.

You should time contractions from the beginning of the first to the beginning of the second and so on. Braxton hicks are more likely to be all over the place where as real contractions will gather in intensity and frequency.

Hope that helps. Just stay relaxed and mindful and keep the doctors number handy so if things change you can call them.

best of luck

that's happened to me before! I wasn't sure if it was urine or not ... luckily it happened the morning of my doc's appt and I told him about it. He immediately checked me to see if my bag of waters was leaking. It is possible for it to leak and not completely break. If I were you I would take the precaution of maybe going to the ER (since you are less than 4 blocks away) and making sure it's not that. Just to be safe, you know? Most likely thought it was urine and you leaked a little.. It was still good I got checked though because doc found an infection I had to antibiotics for too.
My aunt leaked fluid with her first son and ended up having him early (this was 28 yrs ago) I believe he as about 4 weeks early.
I hope everything goes well with you and it's good you are not freaking because it's not good for ya.
Good luck and gratz :)

Keep an eye on the fluid. If you called a midwife they would probably recommend putting on a freswh panty liner and lying down for an hour. Then check the panty liner. If it is wet you need to go to the hospital contractions or not as once your water breaks there is an increased risk of infection. Not sure about the pressure.... maybe BH

The leakage could have been just urine unfortunately when your pregnant your bladder is weaker. As for the pain as long as your keeping an eye on it don't worry. More then likely it was just your uterus stretching.
