This is what he says on his website

"I share our Founders’ belief that in a free society each citizen must have the right to keep and bear arms. They ratified the Second Amendment knowing that this right is the guardian of every other right, and they all would be horrified by the proliferation of unconstitutional legislation that prevents law-abiding Americans from exercising this right.

I have always supported the Second Amendment and these are some of the bills I have introduced in the current Congress to help restore respect for it:

* H.R. 1096 includes provisions repealing the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act and the Federal Firearms License Reform Act of 1993, two invasive and unconstitutional bills.
* H.R. 1897 would end the ban on carrying a firearm in the National Park System, restoring Americans’ ability to protect themselves in potentially hazardous situations.
* H.R. 3305 would allow pilots and specially assigned law enforcement personnel to carry firearms in order to protect airline passengers, possibly preventing future 9/11-style attacks.
* H.R. 1146 would end our membership in the United Nations, protecting us from their attempts to tax our guns or disarm us entirely.

In the past, I introduced legislation to repeal the so-called “assault weapons” ban before its 2004 sunset, and I will oppose any attempts to reinstate it.

I also recently opposed H.R. 2640, which would allow government-appointed psychiatrists to ban U.S. veterans experiencing even mild forms of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome from ever owning a gun.

You have the right to protect your life, liberty, and property. As President, I will continue to guard the liberties stated in the Second Amendment."

Essentially, Ron Paul is for Freedom. That means limiting government to it's proper role as defined by the Constitution.

We don't need the federal government running our lives. Ron Paul would work to overturn the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act, both of which are violations of the Bill of Rights. Ron Paul is against torture.

Ron Paul would end terrorism against this country by changing our aggressive foreign policy. We would trade with other nations, and visit them. We would neither subsidize them (foreign aid) nor kill them (military aggression).

Ron Paul wants to end the income tax. That means no more filing, no more audits and you get to keep all of your money. he would make Social Security voluntary.

Ron Paul feels that the American people don't need government to run our lives. We want freedom.

And yes, Ron Paul is a big supporter of the Second Amendment -the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

No hes basically saying that people should be allowed to have guns. There are people who are going to have guns reguardless, and taking away the right to own a gun legally would leave many defenseless against those who are owning them illegally. Personally I don't like guns in the first place, but he has a point....

He has no idea what he's for or against.

The NRA is a freakin' fraud and he's their mouthpiece.

Nobody EVER EVER wrote legislation to "take away our guns".

it's a non-issue. It's the "war on Christmas" all over again.

Somebody, ANYBODY post one piece, one shred of legislation every proposed by any American since 1776 that says the government wishes to "take away" people's guns.

Paul is another shill for the NRA to get their money and votes.

he's also for:

abolishing NATO
abolishing the UN
abolishing the Federal Reserve
abolishing the IRS
abolishing Roe vs. Wade

Obviously, a naive populist running on the Fruitcake ticket with Ross Perot to put America back into the 18th century.

yes he's against gun control because he's a constitutionalist, and the constitution obviously guarantees our right to own guns. he's basically a libertarian, but probably calls himself republican because nobody without a "D" or an "R" next to their name has a good chance of winning. libertarians truly believe in freedom and liberty, whereas republicans and democrats only pretend to believe in those things.
