Street wise, is knowing how to handle yourself in the world, specifically in an urban environment, to know how to keep yourself and your possesions safe, and make a profit if possible!

It does mean you know your way around. You are wise to the pitfalls out there on the streets. You are aware of the dangers that lurk in every corner and because of this you are street wise and able to handle any situations that may arise.

It means a little more than knowing your way around. A person who is uneducated in every other way can be streetwise. They know who to watch for and who to watch out for, they know all the street language, they know who is on what and where they get it, they know how to dress for the street or for the clubs, they know when and how to fade from sight, when and how to show their stuff-- they know the pulse of the street, and they provide that pulse as well. It means you are tuned into or very aware of your surroundings and situations. It's the ability to bullsh1t people without being bullsh1tted yourself. It's basicly being able to navigate any social situation, such as talking your way into a job, not getting ripped off my a mechanic, talking your way out of a fight...

my brother is street wise,im not.He knows his way around the streets with the people and lifestyles and slangs and hangouts,it worrys me..cheers

It means yoy know how to act and use common sense when you are in certain circumstances in places that you don't know, how to be weary of people and keep yourself safe at all times.

yeap!! and have eyes on your back.And kinda read the situation around you at the time.Is kinda like telling the future !!! I dunno if I am sooooo good at it or if just the shifty characters on the high street ,at night,that are just sooooooo predictable !
