Is it within reach...... or a long forgotten memory?
Can that not change in the flash of an eye?

I used to want everything. I wanted it all. Then at the age of 24 I was diagnosed with malignant cancer. I had three little girls at the time of my diagnosis. They were the ages of 6 years, 3 years and 6 weeks old.

I had my first operation a few months later and underwent a total of 14 in a 4 year period. I had things removed that I don't even remember the names of.

It was at that time that my dreams and my desires changed. I went from wanting it all, to wanting to live, wanting to see my children grow up and graduate and get married. I wanted to be around to see the birth of my grandchildren.

That was is 1984 and I am still here. I have custody of 2 of my 7 grandchildren. I watched my girls graduate, get married and have babies.

In conclusion, the life I longed for is here. I am living it everyday. I am happy to be here and grateful that the good Lord let me stay around for a little longer.

A memory..not forgotten..but out of reach. The dream had to be adjusted to fit the realities that changed the path. Unexpected events that had to be accomodated and accepted. So yes, it can change in a flash.

I am nineteen, so I feel the life i long for is very much within my reach. I have so many dreams and things I want to accomplish. I am not going to let anybody/anything hold me back.... But in reality, it can all be destroyed in a second if something happens to me or somebody I love, and the path of my life may change completely.

I kinda wish I had a more supportive family, nobody even wants to meet up for Thanksgiving... or see my newborn. Is it within reach?... not with these people.. I think I have to wait to start my own family and have lots of kids since my hubby doesn't have family either.

I think that for most people, it seems to be elusive, and during the course of the everyday sorrows the promise of the hope that is longed for seems to be an illusion and an unattainable accomplishment. But i do believe, that in remaining steadfast to our goals, and working towards them continually, never allowing the hope to be stolen from us, that that 'longed for' life is within reach. ♥

Btw, nice to see you around again!

It doesn't exist because it never so it will not. Life is for you to improve if you want it better.

Now you have such an idea, tomorrow you will be informed differently and you'll change your idea. Ten years from now, you will be completely different person.

So the life you long for doesn't exist.

The life I long for is within me and can be no where else. It is my soul and what I believe in and this is where all my thoughts, wishes, and hopes come from.

I am life. What would I need to long for? When hungry, eat. When tired, sleep. When thirsty, drink.
Longing would imply lacking. If I am life, what do I lack in life?
You want what you see someone else has and that creates your longing.
