Most people don't have lives of their own. So they rely on making themselves part of other people's business, people who are under the public eye.
That, and just so they have something to talk about. ex. "Oh my god, did you hear J-Lo finally admitted she's pregnant?"

i could care less..wgat about all the other moms in this country..they have babies under very bad conditions and dont get recognized..i hate celebrities that get all the attention...what the hell makes them so special..i know a lot of people that look just as good or better than the hollywood sluts and fags...its the medias fault and the idiots that giggle and slobber that makes them so popular...

It's not the public who care, it's just the media & media whores who care. They just post this crap over and over online while nobody fives a damn about it.
