There is no question about enosis. It is dead for years and Cyprus and Greece are both in EU, which means we are united under EU umbrella.
Republic of Cyprus is home for both Greek and Turkish Cypriots.
The only difference is: GC drink Greek coffee and TC drink Turkish coffee, which is absolutely the same coffee, but different name : exactly like our divided parts of the country.
The day will come when my friend Anlarm and me will have our Cyprus coffee ( kypriakos kafes) together. Soon.

there are no longer any negotiations because of the fact of double standards of ecu ecu promised to restrict ambargo on N. cyprus in the event that they say particular to annan plan. N. cypriots voted particular yet they did no longer do away with the ambargo. besides to that they needed turkey to open its harbours to Greek Cypriot Ships. Turkey stated they could no longer open harbours till at last ecu does what they promised to do. and as ecu would not do what they promide to do, family are locked. Ive been to N. Cyprus many circumstances. I talked many turkish cypriot who lived alongside with greeks earlier 1974. all of them say an identical element. they say its impossible for them to stay alongside with greeks because of the fact they suffered from Greeks vey plenty. all of them say what injury them maximum become even their ideal greek pals betreyed them. Their eyes even get moist while they say so eventhough they have been 50-60 years previous. they understand and love turkey's military very plenty youthful technology on the different hand, loves greek cypriots and dislike turkey because of the fact its a technology that suffered from amborgo. while they see greek cypriots with funds they prefer to be on the fringe of them. previous technology gets indignant with that situation, yet youthful technology is like greek-wannabees as greeks cypriots are rich. I additionally prefer to function that the reason of all hate btw turkey and greece is cyprus conflict. Greeks and turks made bloody wars, inspite of the undeniable fact that, there become peace between them till at last greek cypriots began to kill turkish human beings. Turkish human beings in turkey stared to attack greeks in turkey then. Turkish greeks hate Makarios and cypriots greeks because of the fact of that. I additionally sense unhappy for them plenty because of the fact they paid for the sin of greek cypriots. Then, greece government began to opress Turkish minority in greece. Turkish minority had extra rights 60 years in the past, so as greeks in turkey. All of those got here approximately because of the fact greek cypriots did no longer prefer to be equivalent with turkish cypriots.

Maybe if the EU had demanded a resolution to the problem before allowing Cypress in or contemplating letting Turkey in it would have forced something to happen.

Someday it will happen, we should not forget history...the Berlin Wall etc.

The example of how Kreta after a century of continuing revolutions, managed without any Greek help, to become a part of Greece, shows that nothing is impossible.
Germany became one country in 19..I can't remember (1989?).
BUT, you should keep in mind why Cyprus exists as a separate country till 2007?
It is not the "bad" Turks that are keeping the island separated but some really bad "powers" that are using Cyprus as a corner of hi dding their profits and for other financial activities.
Why Switzerland exist as a separate country and it is not unites to Germany and secondly to France and to Italy?
Maybe, when the intereste for Middle East stops existing (f.ex. when and if Kurdistan become a state), maybe then the geopolitical position of Cyprus will be less important.
So, nothing is impossible if the folk wants it to happen, but existing Cyprus as a country is very convenient for many people. Unfortunately.

Have you asked how many Greek Cypriots and Greeks would like that? And if Turkish Cypriots would allow it to happen?
It was tried before during 1963-74 and it resulted in thousands of dead and wounded people, hundreds of thousands of refugees from both communities. Is it worth it?
