I think Fear is a more effective control mechanism than a Victory celebration.

With another Nobel Cause event. Americans would both elect a Republican and be willing to pay more taxes.

Nothing will turn things around for the GOP. Their list of transgressions against this country is great and people are angry. If they were capable of winning in Iraq they would have done it by now.

Probably will not be a blood letting as no one is allowed to sue the airlines now as they did before, which them being scared, caved in and thus 9/11 guys rode in style.

Iraq will go on for many moons and no end in site, but would hope the people there pull together. Funny but I read where the Batth(msp) was taken out of control for 6 years and then came back, but who knows.

As far as the election I feel it will be a close one between Obama and Hunter.

What is a victory in Iraq, no one knows and seems like they are stuck there for at least the next 6 years.

Only thing that could change the GOP would be Ron Paul, honesty is something that is missing from politics.

Unlike you and far too many other libs, republicans dont look at issues of national security as a tool to win elections. We will certainly accurately state that we take such issues seriously but we hope to keep Americans safe because it is the right thing to do whereas some people need for us to lose a war because it will benefit them in their quest for power.

Extremely sad way of looking at the world!!!

The latter is more likely than the former - and maybe already in the works for by the enablers of 9-11.

I think if conservatives took back their party.. and reinstated the values the GOP used to have, they would definitely turn around. Conservatives never used to be "bad" people, or people who sold out to the religious right of neocons.. but if they took back their party, I think they would do really well and it would even out the playing field a lot more.

Just nominate Hillary as your Candidate, that will galvanize the GOP base like nothing we've seen before.

I think things ARE turning around for the Republicans.

Hillary is at the helm for the libs and we are resting comfortably amid the knowledge that she will never pass 'go.'
