so lets pretend there are 300 major events over the course of one's life that define who they are. these events can be great, and/or horrible. these events can include things such as: getting hit by a car, winning the lottery, being an aspiring actress and randomly meeting a top producer, meeting a great boyfriend, getting an easier test than someone else in school, getting struck by lightning, winning a new car, loosing your house to a fire, being in the way of a boulder falling down the hill, etc, etc. now...like i said earlier, lets just say there are a few hundred of these in everyones life. my theory to why people seem luckier than others is because statistically they have been. if there are 6 BILLION people in the world, think about how many people got 300/300 great events. some may have gotten 290/300 events go their way. these people are far and few because the average person had around half these go there way. some who've had horrible lives had very few good events. thoughts?

Events that are deemed 'fortunate' are only deemed so by the individual experiencing them or an envious observer. Meeting a 'great' boyfriend my only be fortunate/lucky for some. All of the events you've noted may be the doorway to other events. A person is hit by a car (you say unlucky) but is awarded several million dollars in a settlement (you say lucky) but the great boyfriend (you say lucky)was only acting great in order to get to the money and runs away with all of it.
Your view is completely dualistic and short sited. There is no meaning attached to anything that happens and what ever value assigned is only done so in an effort to define its meaning.

You cant win the lotto if you don't buy a ticket, ...same way you cant have a car accident if you not in the car...If you look at your statistics again, its the same people who try and increase their chances of good things happening and only a fraction will be on the upper end.its less than 1% of(1%of 6 billion) that actually participate.

I seem to have a balance. More little lucky things(finding sales and getting the easier tests) happen for each big really sucky thing. I kinda wish it was the other way around. Being lucky at cards is no match for getting discovered by a record producer.
