Good question.
Phil Collins was offered the part, but turned it down.
The suit is not real, the hair is Lama hair from sustainable herds, no animals were hurt in this ad.
It is a suit made years ago but that is bought out when needed.
3 guys worked it, on inside, two pressing buttons, and the ad took 2 weeks to film (he couldn't see the drums).
You owe your mate whatever it was you betted.

No,it is not a real gorilla, but if you can train one to do this you could probably make a great deal of money in commercials and on talk shows. Good Luck

Gorillas r very close to human beings and they can repeat an errand if trained for a long time with help of bananas. Repeat this and get a banana. It's like teaching small children.
