Recovery disks normally need you to start up the computer with the disk in it and to boot from CD. If it does not automatically boot you need to press on of the keys between F1 - F12 on the boot up screen. Not 100% sure which one but on my computer I think that it is F12.

From the sounds of it your not very learn'ed on computer matters ?, the advice that Mike gave you is great providing you know what you are doing .
Should you disturb something in your bios though you could end up loosing the lot , that is if you dint know what your touching. I f this computer came to you as a new package and being Vista I am surmising it did then you will have probably a good chance you had another recovery disk with it marked for instance as mine Packard Bell system Recovery disc or whatever your system is ?. Try that one first or if you indeed do have the Packard system and you have burnt the disc from the set up CD clown ( you will know what I mean if it is Packard ) then you probably have recovery on your computer
put your disc in the CD and go to system /restore in the accessories . Then just follow the on screen prompts , messing with your bios is a job for Computer nerds like myself and mike to the techno peasant its usually a disaster .

Is it a Windows Recovery Disc or a password recovery disk. One is used in case you forget your password and the other will let you recover Windows should it stop working.

You need to boot your computer with the CD/DVD in the CD/DVD-ROM drive. (You may well have to change the boot sequence in your BIOS so that the computer boots from this device. When you first turn on your computer, watch the screen. It will quickly flash up which key you need to depress to enter Setup ... or it might say CMOS, or BIOS.)

Change the boot sequence and save it, then reboot your computer. You should then simply follow the prompts that you get onscreen.

Best of luck.

you have reinstalled the OS countless situations and you probably did not do delete/create partitions or format? next time decide directly to delete the previous partitions, recreate partitions and format. Then any new deploy might supply you each and all of the gap this is there!
