I think you will find traps refers to waiting to capture at known drop off points a technique used in the U.S.A and here in Australia.
Don't stress we are not setting croc traps or over sized rabbit traps to catch our illegal immigrants. Nor are we digging pits and filling them with croc's.

Please let us Aussies know where you got this storey from it is very bazaar and I would be courious to know where it came from. we may be a bit rough around the edges at times but hey come on.

I'm not from Australia, but it is rationally very unlikely. The nomads in Australia would most likely be the Bindibu, Aboriginals of that continent. Considering the inherent nature of a people surviving and finding food, water and shelter in one of earth's most grueling deserts, it is not likely that even small children of this tribe would be likely to step into a trap on the ground. Out of necessity these people would need to always watch where they walked. My rating would be zero prevalence.

With the possibility of causing a fatality, that would be a very serious crime or a very costly civil suit. There must be some restriction and legally demanded procedure for their safe use. If you disobey them, your liability is subject as reimbursement for damages.
