Sometimes, somebody hates you because you did the right thing; sometimes, because of the wrong thing. Many would like you for doing the wrong thing but the wise will not.
If you want to like yourself, just do the right thing. Don't do the wrong thing because latter you will regret.
If you cannot like youself because of many who don't like you, then this is stupid. You like yourself because of many people who like you, then this is not serious. Yet you have to know why they like you or not.
There are people who hate themselves although many people around them like them and want to be like them. And also there are people who don't care anybody like them or not but they like themselves or hate themselves.
So its important that you like yourself because you understand you are not a bad guy.

Yep, even the damned dog likes me. But right now my wife isn't pleased with me. I don't know how I could have misconstrued her words but I did and man is she pissed!! I don't think she likes me right now. Maybe in a week or two, but not right now. 17:33/ 10 / 11 / 07.
