No, not necessarily. Keep in mind that all women will react differently to the pill. Not everyone will have the same side effects. Some have a couple of side effects, some have more, some have none.
None of the pills I was on made me gain weight. However, with Lo Ovral I had a period that lasted for a month, had to stop taking it. With Allesse and Mircette I had horrible mood swings. Then I began taking Yaz last year strictly for PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), and the only two side effects I had were nausea and headaches, both of which went away in a couple of months. I haven't had any problems with it, and I haven't gained weight.
Everyone is different.

I already asked my doctor this question. She said that there is no proof or scientific proof that birth control pills make you gain weight. If you are gaining weight, then control your eating, change your eating habits & start exercising/dieting. Common sense.

i began out taking Ortho tri-cyclin a at an identical time as in the past, and quickly after i began out employing it I went from approximately one hundred ten to a hundred and fifteen, yet once you basically had a toddler and in basic terms weigh that lots, i'm beneficial it should not be too undesirable.

25 % of women gain more than 10lb while on the pill
25% of women lose more than 10lb while on the pill
The other 50% stay the same.
If you are under 25 years old then you are going to gain weight whether you are on the pill or nor, as your body simply hasn't finished developing. Your internal organs get heavier as they reach adult size, your brain finishes growing, and your breasts finish developing (apart from fluctuations due to fat) when you get to 25 years old.
