Yes, bursting of the housing market, decrease of consumer spending due to bigger portion of income is going to pay for the higher cost of energy. I believe these are 2 main factors to cause a recession. Personally I won't be affected by the recession as my profession is related to health care. It's pretty much recession proof.

Yes it can happen but can I predict the future? NO. So just be prepared for it. Kinda like putting money away for a rainy day. If it happens then I think I'm going to turn my backyard into a vegetable garden. If it starts to go into a depression? Then I'm digging a well and I'm installing a wind generator.

Yes. I am a sole trader and i have had a terrible decline in number of clients in the past year or so. Other small business people i know say the same thing too.

Yes it could. But it probably won't last too long. If there was a recession I would just keep watching my expenses, that's all.

I think it will happen and in fact is already starting. The U.S.
is heavily in debt-nine trillion dollars now. I blame Bush and
his invasion of Iraq. What I will do depends on if it directly
affects me,and how,so it remains to be seen.

When gas hits 4 dollars a gallon I will be in a depression. I will have to walk!
