Procrastination means delaying for no reason other than for the sake of delay. For example, if I need to take the trash out, I might wait til tomorrow just because I don't want to do it today. If I couldn't take the trash out because I wasn't home or legitimately had more important things to do, that wouldn't be procrastination. However, I might pretend to have more important things to do, thereby procrastinating, but denying it.

It means to keep putting things off and not doing them. For example: I want to join the Procrastinator's Club, but I'll do it tomorrow.

You've heard the expression, "Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today."
A procrastinator would rephrase that to, "Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow."
