I' m 38 wks,and feel so much pressure and lots of the normal miseries that accompany this end of pregnancy. Just wondering if having sex will increase my chances for water to break. I'm 2 cm dialated if that helps. My doc is acting like a jack - a**, and said unless my water breaks or I'm in pain so bad that I can't speak, to just stay home and when I called on thursday because I was having pains 5 min apart, he was p.o.'d because he was on his way hunting and I interuppted. So now I just want my water to break so he can't refuse to listen to me anymore.

It might help you dilate and therefore get you closer to labor, but it won't cause your water to break.

Your doctor is right and he's not being a jerk. There's no reason to come in unless your water has broken or you are having regular, painful contractions that are LESS than 5 minutes apart and don't go away with rest and a drink of water.

Hang in there, the last weeks are the hardest but baby will only come when ready!

Having sex probably won't increase your chances of breaking your water, but it might help stimulate labor.

And it sounds like your doctor was right and he knew it wasn't labor when you called, right? It's not all that unusual to get contractions that come very close together and you think it's labor, but if they aren't strong, where you are having a hard time sitting still and have to focus to breathe through them, then odds are it isn't labor. When that happens, you should drink some water and lie down and rest for about a half hour or more, they will usually stop or let up, if not, then you'll know it probably really is labor.

Good luck, and congrats in advance!

It did not work for me but has worked for many people I know. I think having sex actually makes you dilate rather than make your water break. They might have to break your water at the hospital. Wait until your pains are about 5 minutes apart and getting worse(like the pain is getting worse). Good Luck and congrats on your baby. Get lots of sleep too!

Yes for some it works and others it doesn't.
You could go for a bumpy drive also as it may help.
But dont be in too much of a rush the baby will come when it is ready. and you do have a few weeks to go so dont rush it and enjoy it now cos you have a lifetime of pleasure and pain to look forward to.

For some, yes. Some other, no. You can try though. I don't think having sex will break your water, but it could bring on the labor. Just enjoy the sex while you can. Have fun!!

Your significant other being intact does not be the reason. i'm intact and my spouse has no problems. it ought to be brought about by utilising your significant other not cleansing his genitals exact, not cleansing your self exact or maybe another scientific reason. Does your significant other wash himself exact? If any guy (intact or circumcised) then they'll carry micro organism that ought to reason a UTI. how old are you? do you wipe front to back once you bypass to the bathroom? Moose

yes it will help

when me and my wife were doing it for the last time like 5 days before she was due and her water broke all over me i guess it was very embarrassing for her because i just thought it was a big orgasm because she was pregnant i thought they got bigger orgasm discharges and i didn't know and i was doing it harder because i thought she was liking it because she was screaming like it sounded like a pleasure scream but then she told me that her water broke and than we did it for a bit longer and then went to the hospital and she went in and had the baby like a half an hour later

go for it get that baby out already
