AngelLuv; it is not relevant. It's not your ranking, but it's what you can do that counts. I feel so bad for you young people today. Perception is reality, and since so many of you have bought into a lie, (SAT's, class rankings, GPA's) you have made this your truth.
Mull this quotation over in your head: "Never listen to what they say, but always watch what they do." by Dr. Henry Kissinger. Apply it everyday to questions like this.

Well, you're in the top 40-percentile or so, which may not be "great", but, look at it this way: Even if everybody got solid A's, SOMEbody would have to be in the 40th percent, and SOMEbody has to be at the very "bottom". See how numbers can "lie"?
Besides, with the possible exception of Japan, your class standing really doesn't matter. It's what you are able to do with the knowledge that you obtained which is of importance. Yes, your first few jobs will ask for grades and stuff, but, if you can overcome that with a great attitude and genuine desire for work. I've seen plenty of people who claim to have brilliant scholastic records, but were total duds when it came to the "real" world, and the reverse was true as well.
So, grades aren't everything, but, you should strive to do the best that you can (and, no, your parents didn't make me say that!). ;)

Well do the math. You're better than about 60% of your classmates. Not great, but certainly not terrible. If you're worried about college chances, they look at your GPA, extra curriculars, community service, work, and test scores too. If you do okay in the other departments here, you can still make it into a lot of good schools.

not really ...but also what is your GPA that means a lot too ... but being in the bottom half is not the best ...but as I said your GPA and your major and what year you are in will need to be taken into account ... then a better judgment can be made....
